"I Am Who I Am"

"God said to Moses:
I Am Who I Am."
/Exodus 3:14/

God appeared to Moses in the form of the burning bush before the Exodus from Egypt—an encounter meant to strengthen him and to assure him that God would remain with him throughout his journey. No matter how unbelievable such a phenomenon may seem, with God all things are possible. Faith, at its core, is trust in what is unseen and beyond comprehension. "I Am Who I Am" is God's self-revelation: a declaration of His eternal being—He who always was, is, and will be. He never abandons humanity, but stands beside us in every circumstance.

The Desert Fathers, such as St. Paul the Hermit and St. Anthony the Great, were among the first Christian hermits—anachorets, those who withdrew from the world to live in solitude. The Pauline Order, founded in Hungary, emerged in the 13th century from hermits living in the Pilis mountains. In contemplative orders, the practice of retreat into prayer holds central importance.

My photographic work seeks to depict this transcendent relationship: the way God draws near to humanity, and the life of a "white monk" who dedicates his entire existence willingly and joyfully to the service of the Lord.

"Vagyok, aki vagyok"

"Isten ezt felelte Mózesnek:

Vagyok, aki vagyok."

/2 Mózes 3,14/

Isten megjelent Mózesnek egy égő csipkebokor képében az Egyiptomi kivonulás előtt, hogy erőt adjon neki, illetve biztosítsa mindig vele lesz az útja során. Akármilyen hihetetlennek tűnik ez jelenség, Istennél bármi lehetséges. A hit lényege pont a láthatatlan és felfoghatatlan dolgokban való bizalom. "Vagyok, aki vagyok" – Isten kijelentése önmagáról, ami azt jelenti, hogy Ő mindig volt, van és lesz. Soha nem hagyja magára az embert, mert ott van mellette minden helyzetben.

A sivatagi atyák Remete Szent Pál és Remete Szent Antal voltak az első remeték, akiket anakhorétának is nevezték, amely visszavonult, elkülönült ember jelent. A pálosok egy magyarországi alapítású szerzetesi rend a Pilisben élő remetékből jött létre a 13. században. A szemlélődő rendekben kiemelten fontos az imádságban való elvonulás gyakorlása.

Fotográfiai munkám a transzcendens kapcsolódást mutatja be, ahogyan Isten közeledik az ember felé, illetve ahogy egy "fehér barát" egész életét önként és örömmel oda szánja az Úrnak.
