Pax et Bonum!

This project was created in collaboration with a community of nuns living in the Franciscan spiritual tradition. I was searching for a form of withdrawal freely chosen — a way of stepping back from the world not out of refusal, but out of devotion. Responding to God's call, the sisters enter a monastic community where mutual support and complementarity allow them to experience the deeper meaning of their greeting Pax et Bonum — Peace and Blessing.
The theme of retreat becomes visible both in their continuous prayer and in their intimate relationship with nature. During the weekends I spent with them, I also stepped outside the comfort of my own daily life, attempting to personally understand what it means to live as a religious sister.
Through this work, I wish to reveal that behind the monastic veil — often perceived as a life defined by renunciation — I discovered women living in profound spiritual richness, compassion, and devoted love.
Pax et Bonum!

A fotográfiai munkámban egy ferences lelkiségben működő, női szerzetesrenddel foglalkoztam. Az elkülönülés egy olyan formáját kerestem, ahol az emberek önként vállalják az elvonulást. Isten hívását követve lépnek be egy szerzetesi közösségbe, ahol egymást kiegészítve és segítve tudják megtapasztalni a Pax et Bonum, Áldás és Béke köszöntésük valódi jelentőségét. Az elvonulás motívuma nyilvánul meg a szüntelen imádságban és a természet közelségében is. A velük töltött hétvégék során én is kiléptem a saját életem kényelméből és megpróbáltam személyesen átélni, mit jelent számukra szerzetesnek lenni. A projektem üzenetében képviselni szeretném, hogy a kívülről lemondásokkal teli életformának tűnő szerzetesi fátyol mögött, lelki gazdagságban és odaadó szeretetben élő nővéreket ismerhettem meg.
