"Ami a felszín alatt marad"
Fotográfiai projektem a családi fotóarchívumból származó negatívok és a kísérleti fotográfia összekapcsolásával vizsgálja az emlékezet működését, a generációkon át öröklődő történeteket és a kimondatlan traumák továbbélését a lelkünk mélyén.
Munkám kiindulópontját régi családi fényképek adják, amelyek negatívjait fényérzékeny fotópapírokra vetítettem a sötétkamrában. A részben exponált fotópapírokat több napra a kertünk földjébe temettem el. A talaj nedvessége, biológiai és kémiai összetétele közvetlenül alakították az emulzió felületét, mielőtt a képek előhívásra kerültek volna a sötétkamrában.
Az elkészült képek a családi emlékezetünk vizuális lenyomatait. A talaj ebben a folyamatban aktív alkotótársam volt, hiszen elfedi, módosítja, sőt néhol megsemmisíti a képi információkat, ahogy az emlékezés során is sokszor próbáljuk eltemetni a családi traumákat.
"What Remains Beneath the Surface"
My photographic project explores the workings of memory, intergenerational narratives, and the persistence of unspoken trauma by bringing together negatives from my family photo archive and experimental photography.
The starting point of my work is a collection of old family photographs. In the darkroom, I projected their negatives onto light-sensitive photographic paper. The partially exposed sheets were then buried in the soil of our garden for several days. The moisture, biological activity, and chemical composition of the soil directly shaped the surface of the emulsion before the images were developed in the darkroom.
The resulting photographs are visual traces of our family memory. In this process, the soil became an active collaborator: it conceals, alters, and in some places even destroys the image information, much as we often attempt to bury family traumas in the process of remembering.
